545 0 |a Frank Rockwood Moore, businessman, came to Spokane in 1879 at the age of 27. In 1884 Moore purchased four large lots along the south side of Seventh Avenue and commissioned Spokane architect Kirtland Cutter to design his home. The house was considered one of early Spokane's most spectacular homes and that property is now the Corbin and Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens. Moore was a successful businessman and helped organize Spokane's First National Bank and was named its first president. He was instrumental in organizing the Washington Water Power Company and was appointed one of the utility's first president, as well as being active in real estate development. He died in 1895 at the age of 43. Frederick Mason was the younger brother of Frank Moore, but was raised by the Mason family when their mother died when Frederick was an infant. Frederick arrived in Spokane in 1886, and became associated with the Holley Manufacturing Company that got its start providing equipment for the Coeur d'Alene Mines in Idaho. In 1892 Fred was listed as president of Holley, Mason and Marks. He died in 1913.
