Everyone thought high school seniors Zyla Matthews and Kai Johnson had broken up, but then on a school trip to the Pocono Mountains the two of them disappear together. Zyla, the cynic about love disillusioned by her parents' divorce early in her life, and Kai, the hopeless, monogamous romantic, have a lot to talk about. The two retrace how they met and fell in love, jumping forward and back from the past to the present, and ask themselves, in the end, why can't their relationship work out after all.
