Collection primarily contains programs of the Cultus Club, a woman's club in Spokane. The programs run from 1894 to 1965. Included in the collection is a scrapbook of the programs compiled by Mrs. D. H. Dwight. These scrapbooks are duplicated in the programs files. In addition to the programs are the club's constitution from 1936 and a history of the Cultus Club compiled by Mrs. Lawrence Jack (Susan) in 1942 on the Club's Golden Anniversary. One file contains several photographs of club meetings. Also includes newspaper clippings (mostly undated) about club activities and individual members.

The club's theme was "all work and no play makes dull women." They held weekly meetings devoted to the study of literature, music, art, science and theology. The object of the club was "iintellectual and social improvement." It joined the Federation of Women's club in 1893. | |
