Nine-year-old Nathan is struggling to make sense of the world around him, now that his older brother is off with his friends, and a bully begins threatening Nathan. One day Nathan explores an old lighthouse where he finds a portal to a secret world where his imagination rules and he is in control. Nathan begins escaping to this world each day, especially when he overhears his parents talking about a serious issue. But when he's eventually unable to control events in his imaginary world, he isn't sure if he can handle what's waiting for him in his real one.
