Piano concerto no 1

Symphony no 4

Piano concerto no 1

Symphony no 4
Tchaikovsky
compact disc - 2011

The opening of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto is arguably the most famous of any piano concerto, but astonishingly the work was dismissed as worthless when Tchaikovsky initially played it to pianist Nikolay Rubinstein. Tchaikovsky vowed not to change a note, and posterity proved him right.
