When Adam, Emma's first love, decides he wishes a different path in life, he leaves their community of Middlefield, Ohio, breaking Emma's heart. For ten years, Emma has put everyone else first in her life and has raised her siblings after their parents' untimely death. With them now grown, she can focus on herself and her dream of opening a yarn store in the vacant cider house on her land. Adam makes a sudden return to town determined to win Emma back and reawakening feelings Emma thought long buried. A newcomer in town also shows an interest in Emma while her well-meaning sister and brother-in-law make their own plans for Emma's future and the property she hopes to use for her shop. All this attention is new to her and she doesn't know quite how to accept it. She is determined to guard her heart and though she knows her Heavenly Father treasures her and will provide, will her family or either of her beaus?
