Samples of unusual currency and commercial paper used at different times in the West. Some of it was donated by W. D. Vincent of the Old National Bank of Spokane with a note that "all this money was burned when redeemed except whatever may been kept as souvenirs and three sets which W. D.V., who had charge of the issue, retained." Includes Spokane Clearing House Association Checks, 1907, Exchange National Bank of Spokane, Clearing house certificates, 1907, and The Old National Bank of Spokane, Clearing house certificates, 1907. Two items, which may have been added to the collection at another time are an 1835 share of the Stock of the Western Emigrating Company, 1835 and one Chamber of Commerce Certificate from Tenino, Washington (made of wood), 1952.
