One scrapbook of newspaper clippings related to Washington's volunteer regiment in the Spanish Civil War. Many of the newspaper clippings are undated. The scrapbook is extremely fragile. The clippings follow the activities of the Washington volunteers and name the people who were killed or wounded during combat. There is also a clipping about a reunion in 1938.

| 545 | 0 | |a Allan R. Scott, Spokane County Commissioner and engineer, was born in Idaho in 1873. The family moved to Spokane in 1883. He went to the State College in Pullman and worked as a city engineer in Spokane and as a mining engineer in British Columbia. In 1903, he became Spokane County Surveyor and Spokane County engineer in 1906. He was elected to the county commissioners in 1910. In 1898, he enlisted and served with the First Washington Volunteers. He had been a member of Company B, First Regiment National Guard. He married Luella Davey in 1907 and died in Spokane in 1954. | |
