Jessie Shirley Papers

Jessie Shirley Papers

Shirley, Jessie, 1866-1918
Kit -

Collection of programs, photographs, and newspaper clippings documenting the performances of the Jessie Shirley Company, theatrical company, in Spokane. This small collection consists mostly of programs from the Jessie Shirley Company and their productions in Spokane. Some programs from other cities are represented, but many are unidentified as to the place or date. One file of photographs consists largely of undated photographs of Shirley. There are several photographs of other players in her company and two photograph of the Maylon Players from the season of 1925-1926. It appears that some of the players from the Shirley company joined this company, when the Shirley company disbanded. There is also a portrait of her husband, Harry W. Smith.
