An eighteen-year-old princess named Yenni, leaves her Yirba tribe for the land of Cresh to study at the Prevan Academy for Battle and Magical Arts in the hopes of finding a cure for her father's wasting disease. There she meets a human-dragon shapeshifter named Weysh who claims her as his Given, a type of soulmate. While at first Yenni resists his arrogance, she eventually sees that he may be the key to saving her father and people.
