Eleven-year-old Mimi, an Indian-American, wants to prove she can be a talented baker so she enters a baking contest. One night, she hears a siren song from the woods and meets a fairy who introduces Mimi to exotic herbs and flowers, which she turns into delicious foods. But strange things begin happening in town and in her family, and she begins to suspect that her food is the cause. She must then find a way of reversing the mayhem caused by the mischievous fairies.
