There is an index at the front of the book with names and copies of the firm's correspondence on numbered pages. The copies are sometimes typewritten and sometimes handwritten. All copies are difficult to read, but some are legible. The copies are faint. The correspondence ends in 1896 and covers routine legal affairs.

545 0 |a A. G. Avery, Spokane attorney, was born in New York in 1860. He graduated with a law degree from the University of Michigan in 1886 and began his law career in Genoa, New York where he married Evelyn Young. They came to Spokane in 1888. He originally had a practice with Frank T. Post, but had his own practice from 1893 to 1900. In 1905, he was appointed the U. S. Attorney for the eastern district of Washington, and held that position until 1910. He was appointed to the superior bench in 1926. He died in Spokane in 1929.
