511 |a Presenter: Scott Hargis. Scott Hargis is a widely recognized interiors and architectural photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Scott creates artistic photographs that communicate more than just basic information about a room or structure. His compositions strive to reveal the intent of the designer, interpreting their work into a two-dimensional image that accurately conveys the feeling of being in the space itself. In an age when many photographers assemble images using extensive digital manipulation, he still prefers traditional field techniques and close attention to detail to capture photographs that feel honest and alive, carry the integrity of the moment, and require minimal retouching. Scott's photographs have appeared in numerous publications including This Old House, Oakland Magazine, Alameda Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, Diablo Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, Design Bureau, Women's Day, and the East Bay Express. A member of the International Association of Architectural Photographers (IAAP), Scott shares his expertise with students at workshops throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East.
520 |a Learn the lighting and composition techniques behind photographing a bedroom for real estate advertising.
520 |a Real estate photography is about making each room look its best while accurately portraying a property's characteristics. In this course, architectural and interior photographer Scott Hargis walks us through what's often called "the basic bedroom." It's one of the simpler rooms to photograph, and thus a great way to learn the lighting, composition, and workflow techniques required to make it look its best. Scott shows how to expose the image so you capture the inside of the room as well as the world outside the windows, with minimal work in post.
