In 1906 the average wage was 22 cents an hour and the tallest building in the world was the Eiffel tower. Teddy Roosevelt was president and Floyd Daggett was the Mayor of Spokane. Spokane's saloons, opium joints, night clubs, theaters, and disorderly houses were thriving as were yeggs (safe-crackers) and hold-up men.
