The rise and fall of Miss Fannie's biscuits

a cozy Amish mystery
Wanda E Brunstetter and Martha Bolton
Book - 2025

"Why are baking contestants disappearing? Fannie Miller, a quilt maker with a love of baked goods and a penchant for solving mysteries, has met a life goal by qualifying for the finals of the Tuscarawa County baking contest. But when some of the other contestants start vanishing, it seems something nefarious might be afoot. Fannie is forced to enlist the help of Foster Bates, a retired cop and part-time private investigator, by disrupting his peaceful off-duty hours. Though he's reluctant to get involved at first, Fannie manages to persuade him of the potential seriousness of the situation. Could it be that one of the other finalists is somehow responsible for these disappearances, thinning out the competition? Michael and Melissa Taylor, a couple on the brink of divorce, could no doubt use the $25,000 grand prize to pay their attorneys. Meanwhile, the Blustery Beiler Sisters---Faith, Hope, and Charity---seem to be doing a lot of whispering behind everyone's backs. Is it possible they are hiding a dark and sinister secret? And what about Fannie herself? Has the amateur sleuth really told Foster everything she knows?"--Back cover.
