Seventeen-year-old transgender Nicholás Caraveo leaves his Wisconsin family for New York City, where he hopes to freely live out his identity and help support his farming family through a career on Wall Street. There, he meets transgender Jay Gatsby, who introduces Nick to glamorous parties, stealth living, and what it takes to rise through the ranks of the rich and famous. Jay has his sights set on wooing Daisy, a woman from his past, clashing with Nick's growing feelings for Jay, which only intensify as the two pursue their dreams.
