The sweetest sound

a novel by Sherri Winston
Book - 2018

Shy ten-year-old Cadence Jolly makes a promise to God to share her beautiful singing voice with the world by the time she turns eleven--or at least with her church. Her birthday is fast approaching, and she still hasn't sung for anyone except herself in a recording. Cadence wonders if she can take a promise back, even a promise to God--her shyness is just too painful--but then the recording somehow gets out and her whole church hears it. Now she has a decision to make: deceive everyone and say it is someone else, or break out of her shell and into the spotlight.
